Indian Boarding Schools in Oklahoma

Researching the history of the Indian Boarding Schools in Oklahoma can be a very sad experience. I cannot even imagine the emotion and possible imprints left on these places. Children were taken from their families, homes and culture. Some were run by nuns and others by the government. There are many excellent resources available on the internet.

Life is all about learning new things. When your mind stops pondering, all is stagnant.
Think outside of the box..... what if???

If gas prices were not through the roof, I would volunteer at the Logan County Medical Center. Hmm, maybe one day per week would be feasible though.

No I won't volunteer there.

I do wonder if there are records of the children in Konawa. The Indian children forced to cut their hair, learn English so they may become civilized. This Benedtine-Konawa-Guthrie-Bethany... and the list goes on. Wow.

Sherri this is like geneology, when you start, it sure is hard to stop! Thanks xoxo
